World Mental Health Day

Friday 10th October is World Mental Health Day, but we want everyone to understand that mental health is important every day. Mental health is more than a small part of our lives – it’s every moment of every day.

Mental health matters on the days when everything happens and the days when nothing happens. When life is busy and unpredictable and when it’s quiet and ordinary too. It is so important that we look after our mental health and that of everyone around us.

The world is going through a tough time right now and even if you’re not directly affected by events, it can still feel like a lot to cope with. It’s okay to ask for help, no matter what you, or anyone else is going through.

We may not have the power to influence or change everything we would like to on a global scale. But there are things we can do to protect ourselves and others from feeling overwhelmed and hopeless in the face of current events.

Look after yourself by –

o Setting boundaries with the amount of news you watch.

o Talk with others, spend quality time with your loved ones.

o Have phone-free time.

o Make sure you rest, take time to look after yourself.

o Focus on what you can control.

Everyone deserves to have good mental health.
