This week has seen schools celebrate World Book Day; we love going into schools during this week as we see all the children and staff dressed up. The theme this year is ‘Go All In’ as we want to encourage children to dive deeper into their interests, such as, football, netball, animals, walking, and running by choosing books that match their passions, promoting reading for pleasure.
Schools are celebrating World Book Day 2026 on 5thMarch, but some schools are waiting to celebrate it on 6thMarch as a way of ending the school week.
I think it is important to recognise that making time to read with your child not only provides them with so many educational skills, but it is also a time when you can snuggle up with them and read, laugh and enjoy some quality time together. Let’s make reading a daily habit rather than a chore and encourage the love for reading through choice.
Have a lovely weekend everyone and keep reading.
