Iron Man Incoming

In September (19th September to be exact) I blogged about challenging yourself as I shared with you about how my son was challenging himself to do an Iron Man competition. In the blog I talked about challenging ourselves so we are taken out of our comfort zone and so we pursue new goals. I promised you that I would update you on how he is doing as he strives to achieve his challenge. 

The training is progressing well, the swimming and the cycling are going well but he is struggling with his knee when running, he is having physio on it, so we are hoping in time it improves. The resilience and dedication that he is showing to achieve his challenge I feel (but I am his mum so slightlybias) is commendable. He gets up early every morning to train before a full day at work and then after work there is more training. Of course, alongside this there is lots of eating of the right foods. 

Anyway, the Iron Man is now booked for June so although it is a while away, the challenge of training continues. I will blog again nearer to June to let you know how it is going.

As we approach a new year, it is always good to challenge yourself to something new, I am thinking what I can do but I can tell you this I will not be doing an Iron Man!
