I hope you had a lovely half term and enjoyed some rest; I cannot believe that we are in November already, the days are now so much shorter as the dark starts creeping in so much earlier now. It is a time to keep warm and cosy and to fill your time with all your favourite things as we get ready for the lead up to Christmas. This term is such a busy one in schools, there is glitter, tinsel, Christmas songs, plays and concerts going on but please remember the children and families that we work with that find this time of the year challenging.

Try and keep to routine as much as possible and support the children with any changes that you know are coming up, obviously things do change and happen that we have not planned for, so work with the children on how to respond to a ‘surprise’ within the day. Keep the strategies that you have in place for individual and groups of children, this will continue to help them to feel safe and secure. Most importantly keep the relationships positive, remember children need safety and connection and schools are key in providing this for them.
