Resource of the Month – July 2025

~ Feelings and Emotions Puzzle Cards~

This month we want to share with you the feelings and emotions puzzle cards that we use with some of our children. These cards are great as they encourage the children to match the facial expression to the correct emoji. This also provides opportunities for us to explore with the children different social scenarios and how we can feel many different emotions at once, for example we can be happy and excited when it is our birthday.

Some emotions such as angry and frustrated are closely related and it can be difficult for the children to understand the difference. Working through the emotions with the children is important in order to develop their emotional literacy skills. There are lots of ways of using the puzzle but as you can see below, last week, when I used them we matched the facial expression to the emoji.
