Let’s Reflect

At this time of year, not only do we start to plan for the coming school year, but we also think back over this year.  It is important to remember what a huge impact we will have had on the children we have supported in our classes all year.

Let us remember, one book, one pen, one child, one teacher can change the world”

Who were your favourite teachers at school?  Why were they your favourite?  I can remember all my teachers and two really stand out for me:  Mr Morley, my German teacher, and Mrs Bullock my Y6 primary school teacher.  Mr Morley was my German teacher throughout both my German O and A levels.  He was strict and I knew I could not mess around in his lessons, but I also know he cared about me.  I felt noticed and liked by him.  He had a joke with me, but he also pushed me to do the best work I could do.  Mrs Bullock was the same; she was firm, kind and caring, and she had a brilliant relationship with us all.

If you think back to your best teachers, what did you like about them?  Remember, you will have been that teacher for some of your class and they will remember you forever.  That is such a privilege.  Teaching can be a challenging and stressful job, but it is also the best job in the world.
