Here Comes The Sun

How amazing is this weather that we are having? I don’t know about you, but when the sun shines everything seems to feel so much better: spending time outside, in the garden, going for a walk, taking the children to the park just enjoying the fresh air is so good for the mind and the soul. I feel as though we need to make the most of this gorgeous weather as we just don’t know how long it will last.

This week our year 6 children have completed their SATs; we have checked in on all the year 6 children that we have supported this year, and we are so proud of the positive attitude they have all had. There is one boy that I have supported this year who I feel needs a special mention; when I started supporting him, he felt as though he would never be able to do his SATs as he felt he was not good enough. Myself and the staff team have worked really hard on developing his self-esteem and resilience, and this week he has sat every test with no problem. I went to check in with him at the beginning of the week and his words were, ‘I know I can do it, and I know that everyone is here to help me so I will be absolutely fine’. I am so proud of him!
We start our visits next week to all the year 6 children that we are supporting with transition to high school, it is a busy time of the year, but we love it and feel so privileged that we get to support so many children.

Have a wonderful weekend and remember to enjoy the sunshine.
