~ Social Skill Games~
Within our sessions we use games to help teach children social skills; we directly teach social interaction and inter-personal skills within small groups. Children learn through play, and we encourage the families that we work with to play simple games with their children to teach them how to take turns, win and lose appropriately.
As well as teaching them vital social skills it is also a fun way of bringing the family together. Everyone loves a good board game!
We know that life can get busy at times but if you can please try and spare a little bit of time each day or every few days to play a simple game, it will make a big difference. There are so many games to choose from; we often start with traditional games like snakes and ladders. It is a great game to not only teach the basic social skills but also to help children to deal with disappointment as they slide down that snake!!
