You Can Do It

“Self-Love and believing in yourself gives you the power and courage to change your life”.

Over the last few months, I have been working with a little boy who was finding school challenging. He had a lot going on at home and he was communicating a lot of this through his behaviour in school.  As I started my support with him, he was not in class, he was working away from the classroom with an adult. The adult was amazing, she worked really hard with him, developing a positive and meaningful relationship.  I supported both her and him in developing strategies to help him to cope and to make his time back in class positive.

As a team, we worked together and this week I had a meeting with both home and school; we now have this little boy in class full time (we have done this slowly as we wanted it to be successful).  Things have settled down at home, his time in class is positive, he has made huge progress and most of all he is now happy. I knew he would be ok and that he needed some time to have a ‘re-set’ – sometimes we all need this, and with the right attitude and with help, we can do it.

Although my support with this little boy has finished, I will still be in his school so I will be checking in on him and I know he will continue to make everyone proud even if there are some bumps along the way.
