This month our resource of the month is you! Every child needs an adult that they can trust, an adult who will be there for them and help them to navigate their way through life. Building a positive and meaningful relationship in school with children is the most powerful and effective resource that there is.
We often suggest having a ‘meet and greet’ in place for the children when they arrive at school, this is a way of gauging their emotions and seeing if anyone needs that little bit more time to settle before they enter the classroom. Many of the children that we work with need regular ‘check in’ times throughout the day to ensure they are calm and settled and any issues that they may have, are addressed.
Spending time with a child and really getting to know them is key, we are all individuals, and we all need different things at different times just like the children that we are supporting.
So remember ‘every child deserves a champion’ and that champion is you.
