This week we returned to visit all the year 6 children that we have supported as they have transitioned to year 7. We have supported 38 children in this one high school since the summer term of 2024. This week we went back to their high school to see them all. Every single one of them should be proud of what they have achieved, they have all faced their own individual challenges as they have made the move to their new school, and they have all done amazingly well.
It was lovely to hear all the positives as they shared their experiences, they each shared with us how they had found the transition and offered advice for the children that we will be supporting next year too. We talked about all the things that have gone well for them all and all of the wonderful things that they have achieved, including, new friendships, experiencing new lessons, joining clubs and most importantly for many of them was enjoying the school dinners!
We will be keeping in touch with staff at the high school to see how they all get along as the year progresses and of course we will catch up with them again next year as we support the next cohort of year 6/7 children. We also caught up with the children that are now in year 8 who we supported as they transitioned last academic year. It is great to see them as they progress through the school.
