Next week on 10th October it is National Mental Health Day, this is a day that we can come together and support one another. Every year schools, companies and communities come together to make World Mental Health Day a little bit brighter by wearing something yellow. It is so important to show people that no matter what they are going through they are not alone.
We all have mental health, just like we all have physical health. Mental health is a person’s condition with regards to their psychological, emotional and social wellbeing. This can affect how we think, feel and act. Taking care of our mental health is so important, we need to nurture what is good for us and limit things that have a negative impact.
Reach started this week by delivering training to professionals on promoting positive emotional health and well-being in primary school aged children, we had some really good discussions on how we can do this, and we shared our experiences, and we gave staff practical strategies that they can implement with the families and children that they are supporting.

We all play an important role in supporting our family, friends, colleagues and children we work with in nurturing each other’s mental health.
