Let’s Check In

Every week is a busy week for Reach and this week has been no different.  We have had such a variety of sessions and have worked with so many children, lots of teaching staff and parents. This is something we both love about our work; no two days are ever the same.

We have been into lots of primary schools this week supporting our children and staff in many ways.  It is only once you really know the child, the school and support staff that you can find what strategies really work for everyone.

We have also been to see our year 7 pupils that have recently transitioned to high school.  They have all really grown over the summer and they all looked so grown up in their new uniform.  We are so pleased with how well they have all transitioned to year 7; they have made their families, school, and us really proud. For some of them, we knew it was going to be a huge challenge for them, but every single one of them has made a positive start and we know they are going to continue to shine!

This week we also held a parenting support group; it is great to meet different families and see the children from a different perspective.  We got to know each other, listened to their situations, and did a focused session on boundaries, which was followed by a question-answer session. We can’t wait to see them all again next week and hope more will also come along and join us.

And finally, we attended a course this week; we are always looking at ways of developing our knowledge and it really was interesting and relevant to the situation faced by many schools in the present climate.  It was lovely to see so many people from our schools there too.

We are both ready for the weekend now – we just hope the sunshine stays around. Happy weekend everyone.
