DG6 INCLUSION HUB CONFERENCE

We had a wonderful day at Brockholes Wood Nature Reserve this week with DG6 Inclusion Hub and schools from the Preston area.

The DG6 annual conference was well attended, and it was great to hear about all the good practice that is in place to support children in our schools.

Sue Cowley came to talk to us about EYFS behaviours: supporting the development of self-regulation.  It was great to sit back and listen to her talk about her subject with such knowledge and passion.  I could have listened to her all day.

We also had a talk from Shahana Knight about therapeutic teaching.  She had a wealth of experience and also talked with passion.  When someone really believes in what they are discussing, it comes through and inspires others.

There were stands at the Market Place and everyone got to visit them and spend time taking to the groups represented.

It is so good to be able to chat to people and to hear about the new initiatives that are being trailed in schools.

My day started with seeing a deer, it was a beautiful sunny day (which is a rarity at the moment), we had a fab lunch, and there was great company.  The day ended with a raffle and there was lots of laughter and chatter throughout the day.

A big thank you to the DG6 Inclusion Hub for organising it and for all the hard work that is in place throughout the year by everyone.
