Take What You Need

This is such a wonderful time of the year, but it can also be exhausting, especially when schools are open right up to Christmas, and there is so little time to relax before the big day arrives.

When I get a moment to myself (which is not that often!), I look through my Instagram; I follow Lucy Claire who is an illustrator who always posts the most poignant drawings at the right time. She posted about Matthew Perry’s death (losing a friend), about Vernon Kay’s marathon runs for Children in Need, about the queen’s jubilee and her death, the inspiration felt by young girls watching the women’s’ football team, Sam hugging his friend (Pete Wicks) when he visited him in the jungle when he told him to keep being himself, and so many more. Lucy always posts at the right time when I am feeling emotional about something. I thought her work would be good to celebrate at this time of year.

Remember to tell your children at work (and your own). Also remember this for yourself.

When you are deciding what to get for your children, friends, and family, remember this:

When we return to school in the new year, this is a great image and quote to remind the children as they start 2024.

There is also nothing more important for 2024 for us all. The world would be a happier place if we could all promise to be kind to each other.

These illustrations always make me smile.  Lucy sees something and can put the emotions and feelings onto paper.  Beautiful, thoughtful quotes then bring the pictures to life.  Keep drawing and inspiring us, Lucy.
