We are often asked what we love about our job?
When we get asked this question, our immediate thought is: why wouldn’t we love our job of supporting children, families, and schools? The fact that we are helping so many families, schools and individual children is simply the best job in the world. We love it!
Working with children is fun. We love that no single day at work is the same. We work with individual children for a variety of reasons and each intervention is bespoke to the child. We get to work not only with individual children but with groups and classes of children as well as staff.
Some of these children only need us for a short amount of time and some for longer. This week I finished working with a boy who I have supported several times throughout his school years, he is now in year 6 and is doing really well. We joked on my final session that I will be following him to university, he replied ‘please can you’. Seeing children progressing is just priceless, how can you not love doing what we do.
