Being back out in schools properly this week, reminds me what amazing places they are.
Children (and school staff) spend so much time together all day, every day and so making it the best it can be has to surely be the priority.
I watched a child that I have recently supported who is going through a really tough time, talking to his teacher. He gave her a hug and thanked her. When she asked him what it was for, he said, “For listening to me.” It reminded me of this that I saw today on X from Young Minds UK.

We all feel better when we are given time by important people in our lives. Listening to our children and really hearing what they say will help us understand how we can best help them.
It is also important to let our children know when they have done well. Remember to praise children and catch them getting things right. We all like to be told well done.
